More About Me.
I am a mixed media artist living in Leigh on Sea, Essex. I have degree in Art History from UCL and a Postgraduate Certificate in Art Education. In the last couple of years I have begun to develop my own daily art practice and have been studying online courses to enrich my knowledge, I also teach art in a local primary school.
In 2020, I started exhibiting at The Two Tree Gallery in Leigh on Sea. My painting 'Reflections' was selected for the 2020 Society of Women Artists Exhibition at The Mall Galleries in London.
Recently my work has become more textural as I've been experimenting with new methods and techniques. I've always been inspired by nature and walk daily along the Thames Estuary with my dog, Vito. I take lots of photographs and sketches and then use these back in the studio to inform my artwork. I create my own collage papers using fluid paints and stencils, I also use vintage ephemera and Japanese papers to add detail and history to my work. Often memories inspire paintings and provide a starting point for new work.
I see my art making as an exploration and I'm excited to see where it will take me next!
