About your tutor
I'm Claire Hankey – a contemporary mixed media artist and tutor. I teach the techniques I actually use in my own practice. Nothing theoretical, everything tried and tested in the studio.
My courses are designed to give you real creative skills you can carry into your own work, whether you are picking up a brush for the first time or looking to push an established practice in a new direction.

A focused online course introducing you to the art of image transfer – how to transfer photographs onto different surfaces and incorporate them into your artwork. Around 45 minutes of video content, clearly structured and self-paced.
Suitable for beginners and practising artists alike. No previous experience needed.

A comprehensive mixed media art course taking you from first photograph to finished, layered piece. This course covers photography basics and editing, papers and materials, printing, and how to combine photography with painting to create evocative, dreamlike works.
Includes feedback and guidance, and a community space to share your work with other students as part of your creative journey.

Self-paced online study. All courses are delivered online so you can study at a pace that suits your life. Revisit videos as many times as you like, and work the learning around your existing painting or drawing practice.

The photographic collage course includes direct feedback from Claire and a shared space to connect with other students. You are not learning in isolation.
