Which course should I choose?

If you are new to image transfer and want a focused short course, start with Creative Image Transfer. If you want a fuller programme that takes you from photography through to a finished layered artwork, the Photographic Collage: Creating Veiled Images course is the one for you.

Do I need previous experience?

No experience is needed for either course. Both are designed to be accessible for beginners, while still offering plenty to engage practising artists.

Are these courses available near me?

Both courses are fully online, so you can join from anywhere in the world. Claire also runs occasional in-person art workshops and classes in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex.

Can I buy a course as a gift?

I'm Claire Hankey – a contemporary mixed media artist and tutor. I teach the techniques I actually use in my own practice. Nothing theoretical, everything tried and tested in the studio.

My courses are designed to give you real creative skills you can carry into your own work, whether you are picking up a brush for the first time or looking to push an established practice in a new direction.

Self-paced online study. All courses are delivered online so you can study at a pace that suits your life. Revisit videos as many times as you like, and work the learning around your existing painting or drawing practice.

The photographic collage course includes direct feedback from Claire and a shared space to connect with other students. You are not learning in isolation.
