Friday March 13th 2026
A one day immersive workshop exploring how place can spark imagination, create lasting memories and inspire artistic expression.

Explore, connect, and create by the water’s edge
Join artists Claire Hankey and Shilpa Agashe for Creative Tides — a one day immersive workshop exploring how place can spark imagination, create lasting memories and inspire artistic expression.
This would be a perfect day to share with a creative friend, family member, or collaborator, an experience to reconnect with nature, creativity, and each other.

The Day
We’ll begin at Leigh Marina, tuning into the rhythm and texture of two contrasting spaces: the tranquil salt marsh wilderness and the lively working marina. Through gentle prompts, language, and quick drawing exercises, we’ll explore what catches your attention, slowly building a personal connection to the landscape around you.
After a coffee break, we’ll wander together to the historic Fishermen’s Chapel taking in the unique surrounds and atmosphere of the old town. We'll enjoy a seasonal and nutritious packed lunch provided by Drift, before we begin our hands on creative session.
In the afternoon, you’ll be guided to translate the atmosphere, textures and stories of place into visual form, through drawing, mark-making, colour studies, or collage. Claire and Shilpa will share creative techniques and approaches to help bring your impressions to life.
This is a day to slow down, notice deeply, and create from connection — an invitation to let the landscape move through your practice, wherever you are on your artistic journey.
We will finish around 4pm after which you may want to extend the day by visiting The Revival Shed. Located just minutes from Claire's studio in the marina, it's a calm space offering uninterrupted views of the estuary with sauna, cold plunge and red light therapy on offer.
