Of Light and Layers: A New Chapter in Collaboration- Fine Art Prints

Some creative partnerships begin with a single shared project. Ours began with a conversation.

As two artists rooted in nature; Claire through atmospheric abstract painting, Petra through evocative fine art photography we found ourselves drawn to a similar rhythm. A fascination with the passing of seasons, the quiet details of plant forms, and the stories created by light and shadow.

What started as a collaboration on Synthesis has grown into something deeper: a shared creative practice. We’re excited to now work under the name Of Light and Layers Studios, a space where our two disciplines meet, merge, and evolve.

The name reflects what drives us both: the layering of materials and meaning, the interplay between what is seen and what is suggested, and the constant presence of light as storyteller and guide.

Working together, we blur the lines between photography and painting, between the observed and the imagined. Textures fold into shadows. Botanicals are veiled in lace or fabric. Colours bleed into one another like memory. Our work is quiet, exploratory and rooted in a deep respect for the natural world.

Through this studio, we’ll continue to develop joint projects exploring themes of concealment, softness, connection and impermanence. We’ll also be sharing glimpses into our process, behind the scenes moments, and upcoming exhibitions through this blog and our Instagram, @of_light_and_layers.studios

We’re so grateful to those of you who’ve followed our journey so far, and we can’t wait to share what’s coming next.
